About C.A.R.E. Child Abuse Resource and Education Program
“To provide education, information and resources used towards preventing child abuse and neglect in Kearney and surrounding communities.” To do this we provide several different programs, which include:
Happy Bear Presentations, a personal safety program for early elementary aged children, teaches kids about bullying, good touch/bad touch, drug and alcohol prevention, and stranger danger.
Love and Logic Parenting Classes, he Love and Logic workshop consists of six training sessions that will be held once a week for approximately one hour and thirty minutes. Participation fees are $35 per couple and $25 per individual. Grant scholarships are available to income eligible participants.
Child Passenger Safety, CARE works closely with other Child Passenger Safety Technicians in Nebraska to help teach families proper usage of child safety seats and seat belts. We also are involved with Platte Valley SAFE Kids which helps to provide car seats to families at a reasonable price and helps to install them correctly.
Stewards of Children Program, is a program originated by Darkness to Light, a nonprofit organization that protects children from sexual abuse by placing responsibility on adult shoulders.
