About CENTRAL CITY TRANSITIONAL RECOVERY Los Angeles

Monday through Sunday, 24 hours per day.

The program provides residential treatment for substance abuse for adults age 18 and older who are in Los Angeles. This is a 12-step oriented social model program. Eligible applicants must have three to five days of sobriety before admission to the program, a primary problem of alcoholism or drug abuse, be able to participate in and benefit from the program, and participate voluntarily. The program is unable to assist people who have serious illness. The program is licensed as a social model detoxification facility, and many participants are detoxifying while they are in the program.

Treatment at the Central City Recovery Services is a 30 to 60 day program; at the Jan Clayton Center it is a six-month program. Both programs help participants structure their daily lives; deal with nutritional and medical problems; to obtain identification, if needed, and financial assistance, if they are eligible; and to locate and apply for long-term recovery programs if they choose. Services include alcohol and drug education, individual and group counseling, group discussions and presentations, social model detoxification, social and recreational activities, twelve-step meetings, health and fitness activities, referral for physical exams and health screening, and future planning.

Fees are set according to a sliding scale that ranges from $0 to $1500 per month; no one is denied service due to inability to pay. People who qualify for General Relief may use that grant to pay for care.

Call or walk in for intake screening; participation is voluntary.
