ABODE Treatment, Inc., founded in April 1994, provides chemical dependency treatment services to clients of the criminal justice system as well as the general population. The corporation is a wholly owned private corporation.
Outpatient clients typically receive 2 hours of group counseling per week, and a minimum of 1 hour of individual counseling per month. The duration of the outpatient program is generally 6 to 12 months.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s (TDCJ) institutional division has reached a saturation point. Consequently, very few beds are being made available to the counties. This is creating a serious backlog/overcrowding of the county jails.
As a result, ABODE Treatment is making available substance abuse treatment beds that may be used by the various county correctional systems to alleviate overcrowding and provide another alternative sentencing possibility for the judicial systems.
