About West Yavapai Guidance Clinic - Chemical Dependency Program

Residential:

The Hillside Recovery Program is a 25-bed program for adults which is staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The residential program provides intensive substance abuse treatment with a length of stay that typically varies from 14 to 45 days based on clinical need. Treatment methods include group therapy, individual counseling, educational groups, activity groups, involvement in therapeutic community living, and participation in local community recovery support groups.

    Outpatient:

These services are typically offered Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There are three types of adult outpatient services within the Chemical Dependency Program:

Day Treatment: This is an outpatient therapeutic chemical dependency program consisting of group and individual therapy sessions. In addition, addiction education sessions are available. The program runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): This program consists of both education and therapy groups to address an individual's addiction. Groups are typically two or three nights per week, for three hours each. Clients are expected to complete all assigned tasks and assignments which address the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse/dependence. In addition, program participants are required to attend self-help meetings weekly.

DUI (Driving Under the Influence) Education Program: The goal of this program is to eliminate drinking and driving behaviors and increase awareness of alcohol/drug abuse. Two tracks are available, depending on clinical need. The first is a 16-hour program, while the second track adds an additional 20 hours of treatment. This program is available to persons on AHCCCS/Medicaid only.

ELIGIBILITY:  The first step in determining eligibility is a call to the Assessment & Referral Dept. for information & scheduling, 445-5211.
